This course aims to educate parents on some of the issues facing today's children and young people in an increasingly online world.  We'll discuss algorithms, influencers and pornography, and consider how these can influence children's understandings of sex, gender and relationships, and shape their thinking and behaviours in the real world.  We'll provide an overview of what consent is and isn't.  And we'll look at how parents can open up conversations with their children around consent, healthy relationships and the online world. In this course, we will examine some common misconceptions about sexual violence. We'll also explore how these misconceptions impact victims/survivors and reduce their likelihood of disclosing. This course will help you to listen without judgement to victims/survivors, and to challenge unhelpful narratives about sexual violence should they arise.
